This is the Old Palace of Dungarpur. Juna Mahal was among the World’s Monuments Watch 2014. This was founded in the 13th century, it remained the family’s residence until early 20th century and the building of Udai Bilas Palace, making Juna Mahal the longest continuously inhabited fort-palace in India.
This 8 story structure still stand tall with its paintings intact. Located on the hill, it gives a panoramic view of Lovely Dungarpur Lake & town. Diwan E Aam & Diwan E Khas room paintings are still intact & good. Sheesh mahal is the room on top with vibrant feeling. The kamasutra paintings are now covered & are open to grown ups.
